As Music Director and Executive Leadership Fellow, Gyan conducts the orchestra and chorus of the Muses Creative Artistry Project, and he collaborates with the CEO in programming, development, and marketing.

In the 2026-2027 season, Gyan will be debuting with Austin Opera as their Assistant Conductor and Chorus Master for Massenet's Thaïs.

​

From 2024-2026, Gyan was the Conducting Fellow at Portland Opera. After conducting the world premiere of Shizue: An American Story, Gyan was invited to conduct Frida Kahlo and The Stone Soup and The Bravest Girl in the World. While in Portland, Gyan assisted and coached for Paul Moravec's The Shining, Puccini's La Bohème, Spears's Fellow Travelers, Verdi's Messa da Requiem, and Sanchez's The Crown Maker.

As a member of music staff, Gyan has worked for Fargo-Moorhead Opera, Sarasota Opera, Opera Lucca, Austrian American Mozart Academy, British Youth Opera, Opernfest Berlin, Chicago Summer Opera, Pacific Northwest Opera, Opera Neo, and New York Dramatic Voices.

In addition to his work in opera, he has served as the Music Director of the Trans-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra and the Sale Male Voice Choir. He was also the Associate Conductor of the Danube Symphony Orchestra, the South Liverpool Orchestra, the Northern Ballet School, the Fargo-Moorhead Symphony Orchestra, and the Macclesfield Oriana Choir.

Gyan was born into diverse and disparate musical cultures. His paternal grandfather, a Kolkata-born resident of Hong Kong, was a North Indian classical musician; his maternal grandfather, an Esztergom-born resident of Budapest, was a Romani violinist.

 

He studied conducting, keyboard, voice, and composition in Rome, Berlin, London, Budapest, and Aix-en-Provence.

 

Gyan is currently an MBA candidate at the Global Leaders Institute.
